PULSERA: The Indie Tribe

PULSERA is an indie-band formed in 2008. From the original lineup, only Omar (vox) and Marc (lead guit) remained. Nevertheless, the years of changing lineups and polishing songs enabled the band to fully distinguish and establish its real sound.

Ah, they say the golden age of music is bestowed upon this generation. Anything and everything can happen, all because technology makes it all the easier so.

“Indie” is what it is rightfully called – whether it’s music, visual arts or fashion.

It's funny, though, how when you think about it, only a certain number of people have the monopoly of what is cool, what is tasteful, what is good music. It's like a snooty guitarist defining for the rest of the aspiring lot what a "warm" guitar tone should sound like. Yet the definition is non-quantifiable. One cannot, for the love of all things good and tasteful, even singularly describe what guitar warmth is. It’s simple enough because there is no universally accepted template. It boils down to subjective preference; but it’s THEIR subjective preference. Lest the rest of the businesses fail. Lest the music kingmakers fail.

This year, PULSERA actively participates in the indie music scene through gigs.

What's even funnier is that at this day and age – where almost everything can be produced DIY, where all you need is a decent work station, a pirated DAW software, a whole lot of patience and creativity – there lurks the same mentality. Except they, too, call themselves indie. But, it’s independence with the same snootiness and the arrogance of a kingmaker; only with the guise of "helping out" fellow independents. Probably rejects or wannabes of the ones before them.

While the rest of us, we just play like there's no tomorrow.
