PULSERA on their TOEs

When PULSERA's vocalist OMAR saw the poll in Facebook about TOE's possible concert in Manila, he signed up right away. A month after, tickets became available and, as excited as little kids, the band bought theirs at an early bird rate.

The experience inside the NBC Tent was as surreal as it could get. The show started with local bands, Sleepwalk Circus and Encounters with a Yeti, who played the part in working up to the crowd’s cheers and anticipation. The two front acts were real indications that the night was gonna be filled with great music.

You know for sure that people were excited to see TOE live when even during a sound check, the audience was already screaming. Lucky for the Japanese PA who got his 15-minute of glory before the band actually started playing.

PULSERA gets its inspiration from various bands with different genres. From alternative rock to post-rock/math rock, as played by TOE, it all serves as inspiration to the band in creating good and fresh music.

When TOE finally hit the stage - after what felt like an agonizing 10 minutes of lag time - the crowd erupted in cheers and went wild as expected. Throughout the set, the band showcased their brand of musical expertise. Every song was played with clockwork precision, of tensions and release, borne only from years of playing together and hitting the right formula for transcendent music. And in each song, the band ran high on emotions, a signature of theirs on live sets. To say that they were amazing is a total understatement. With how both the cohesive, unparalleled notes and progressions were played, TOE delivered, giving the Filipino audience what they came for.
